For our Rosa sauce, we start with our family's traditional vegetarian marinara recipe including fresh tomatoes, olive oil, and seasoned fresh classic Italian vegetables - sautéed onion, garlic, and green and red bell peppers - and seasonings of fresh basil, parsley, oregano, and black pepper. Then we combine it into it a garlic Alfredo we make that includes Parmesan cheese, cream, and milk. This blush "pink sauce" blending of two sauce varieties is a delicious change-of-pace to serve with your spaghetti, ravioli, ziti, or any pasta dish. Our home-grown recipes date back to the Depression Era when my great-grandmother Mary grew all of the ingredients in her garden that filled her entire yard, creating beloved sauces for my great-grandfather and their eight children, as well as frequently sharing with the extended family and countless neighbors. She taught her son, my dear Grandpa Pete, this knowledge he honored me with learning from him. Our family's sauces were born in Conneaut, Ohio, now have become favorites in my home region of Rochester, NY - and are spreading fast beyond!
